Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Kyler graduated from Mauldin High School and the Fine Arts Center of Greenville in 2012 and is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a minor in German at the University of South Carolina. Originally Kyler came to pursue a Bachelor’s in Music Performance. After playing on various ensembles in both high school and college, he realized that music was not his passion. His switch to Mass Communication reflects his desire to connect and build relationships with others.
Kyler currently follows this passion on the Board of Directors for the BGLSA (Bi-Gay-Lesbian-Straight-Alliance) at the University of South Carolina and has spent much of his time with the organization planning various events such as BGLSA’s Relay for Life participation and the SC Queer Prom, a second chances prom hosted at the university. In his free time, Kyler enjoys watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, working at Starbucks and traveling to Germany. He is delighted to be here presenting at the TedxYouth Columbia Conference.
