Karli Wells is a junior African American Studies major in the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina. She previously served on the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, a grant-funding organization that allocates $5 million every year for service-learning projects and community enrichment programs. She realized her passion for youth activism and youth voice in high school while she was traveling the country with the Richland Two Youth Action Council and the Institute for Global Education & Service-Learning teaching students and teachers about service-learning.
Karli is a member of the University of South Carolina Gospel Choir and serves on the executive board of both the Association of African-American Students and the USC chapter of the NAACP. She is a Resident Mentor and a University Ambassador. An award-winning writer, speaker, and scholar, Karli is currently working to establish a new student organization called Students Invested in Change, which focuses on affecting positive social justice change.
