An examination of the American school system from the inside, this talk will cover the most important things a student will learn over the course of an educational career, and why those messages are exactly what the world doesn’t need anymore. At its heart, this talk is a plea for help to innovate education to meet the needs of the 21st century.

Cory Alpert is a senior in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Irmo High School, and a performer on numerous local stages, working with Town, Workshop and Trustus Theatres, while serving as the Vice President and Director of Public Relations for Irmo Theatre Company, and is active within the Trustus Apprentice Company. He also works as a student leader for the Global Zero, an international movement dedicated to the elimination of all nuclear weapons.
