Despite the aversion many people have to associating themselves with feminism, feminism remains a relevant and crucial movement.
Catherine is currently a senior at Cardinal Newman School. In the fall of 2012, she attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security. Catherine is the recent co-creator of L’Autruche Chienne, a blog about feminism, the lgbtqia+ community, and other issues of social justice. While in college she plans on studying the areas of international relations, middle eastern studies, Arabic, and women’s and gender studies. Other areas of interest include ableism, specifically mentalism and the stigma surrounding mental illnesses; racism, classism, homophobia, and the intersection of all of these within feminism. In the fall of 2013, Catherine will be entering the University of South Carolina Honors College.
